As an encore to a stellar junior season when he scored more points than any Dixon player, Darius Harrington obliterated his own scoring record on his way to taking over the top spot on the Dukes’ all-time scoring list. He is the 2024-25 SVM Player of the Year.
While there was discussion Bureau Valley would move to the Small School Division of the Lincoln Trail Conference, the Storm remain in the Large School Division for their second season in the LTC. The Storm went 3-4 in its first season in the LTC, finishing 4-5 overall.

Newman's Daniel Kelly took part in the 51st annual all-star Shrine Game on Saturday, closing out a standout high school football career.
Evan Holschbach lost his dad, Leon, to ALS in 2022, just shy of one year after his diagnosis. Holschbach and his wife, Lindsey, volunteered for the Walnut 5K Run/Walk for ALS last year and are giving continued support to raise funds to help find a cure.
The Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association released its All-State teams, and players from Newman, Rock Falls, Fulton and A-FC were selected.

The Illinois Coaches Association released its All-State softball teams in each class, with Dixon’s Bailey Tegeler and Sterling’s Mya Lira recognized in Class 3A. Newman's Gianna Vance and Lucy Oetting were also among the area selections.
