The IHSA girls track and field state finals take place Thursday through Saturday at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Here is the full list of state qualifiers from the Sauk Valley area.

The Sycamore girls won the Class 2A Genoa-Kingston Sectional on Friday, claiming a conference and sectional crown in the same season for the 1st time in school history. Sandwich's Sunny Weber dominated the distance races, Peyton Heywood pulled of an upset in the high jump.

Sycamore, Kaneland, Genoa-Kingston, Sandwich, St. Viator, Plano, Crystal Lake South, Dixon, Rochelle, and Carmel are among the teams that took part in the Class 2A girls track sectional Friday at Genoa-kingston High School.

Oregon and Forreston-Polo had big days at the Class 1A Winnebago Sectional girls track and field meet. Milledgeville and West Carroll also had girls qualify for state on Wednesday.

Mendota junior Mariyah Elam and Morris senior Ava Conley both put together strong efforts, qualifying for the state finals in three events in Wednesday’s IHSA Class 2A Mendota Girls Track and Field Sectional.

Newman's sprinters had a big day and the Fulton girls took second at the Class 1A Erie Sectional track and field meet on Wednesday. Amboy, Bureau Valley, Erie-Prophetstown and Morrison also had girls qualify for state.

Teams from Sterling, Rock Falls, Mendota, Princeton, Streator, La Salle-Peru, Ottawa, Coal City, Morris and Herscher all competed during the Class 2A Sectional track meet on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in the Jeff Prusator Athletic Complex at Mendota High School.
