An Aurora man who was reported missing on Sunday has been identified as the person found dead in the Fox River in Oswego on Monday.
Lorenzo Gayosso Morales, 35, was last seen in unincorporated Kendall County on Saturday and was reported as a missing person to the Aurora Police Department on Sunday, according to a news release from the Oswego Police Department.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning by the Kendall County Coroner’s Office, but the exact cause of death remains unknown pending further investigation, according to the release.
Oswego police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident in collaboration with Aurora Police and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, it is unknown how the man ended up in the river, police said.

About 5:24 p.m. Monday, Oswego police were dispatched to the area after a caller reported seeing something unusual in the water.
Upon arrival, police deployed a drone and located what appeared to be a body lying in shallow water in the center of the river near an island, about 100 yards southwest of Washington Street bridge.
His body was recovered from the river by the Oswego Fire Protection District and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
