Next spring, Harbor House Paddle & Provisions could become a go-to stop for Kane County residents looking for exercise, coffee, drinks, a date night, live music and just about any other excursion.

Eager shoppers began lining up at 6 a.m. Wednesday outside the new Whole Foods Market in downtown St. Charles, ahead of the store’s grand opening ceremony. By 8:30 a.m., a line of nearly 200 people stretched from the grocer’s front door at 300 S. Second St.

After not having a liquor license since 2013, the owner of Blackjack’s Gentleman’s Club, Ann Marie Buttitta of St. Charles, applied for one to the Kane County Liquor Commission, records show.
