The Sycamore girls soccer team traveled to Maple Park Monday to take on Kaneland in an Interstate Eight Conference matchup.

The St. Charles East boys volleyball team couldn't contain Hersey's middles as the Saints lost in the St. Charles East Invitational title match.

Wayne DeMaar, a former athletic director at St. Charles East and baseball coach for both St. Charles high schools is remembered for being "One of the finest men." DeMaar passed away March 27 at the age of 82.

Laine Griswold scored the only goal of the contest in the 13th minute, and St. Charles North would hold the line for the rest of the game to secure a 1-0 victory over Geneva.

St. Charles North senior Mason Netcel, who went 8 for 12 with two doubles, three home runs, scored 12 runs and drove home seven more, is the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week.
