Although the results are unofficial, Kane County Board Chair Corinne Pierog looks to be in the driver’s seat for a second term, according to unofficial results as of 4 p.m. Nov. 8.

With all 292 precincts reporting, the Democrat incumbent had 113,786 votes to Republican challenger Lance Bell’s 103,068.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve the people of Kane County for another four years,” Pierog said. “And I look forward to working cooperatively with 24 board members and the residents of Kane County toward a brighter future.”

Bell on Nov. 6 said his team was disappointed, especially after strong GOP support at the election night party at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles.

“There were 200 people from all over the county celebrating,” Bell said. “Across the board, we are disappointed in the results. But as a group, we learned a lot and we are sticking together.”

He said the Kane County Republican party is recruiting candidates to run for school and library boards in the consolidated election April 1, 2025.

“We’ve been interviewing people for the last eight weeks,” Bell said. “As vice chair of data and technology, I’ll be supporting this round of candidates and get on board next year.”
