Lincoln-Way West cruises to a 11-0 shut out over Plainfield South.

The Plainfield South baseball team was more solid than host Streator in the fundamentals Tuesday, and over seven innings it added up to a 10-1 Cougars win over the Bulldogs.
Lincoln-Way West only needed five innings to take care of business against Plainfield South Tuesday afternoon.

Lexi Majkszak's two-run home run in the first inning provided a jolt for St. Charles East, which went on to secure a 10-0 win in five innings over Lincoln-Way Central.

Rhett Harris hit a grand slam and added an RBI double and teammate Landon Currie hit a two-run home run in Minooka's 10-0 win over Morris.

All-State running back Broden Mackert and Division I defensive line prospect Lamar Winfield are two Providence players who turned in strong junior seasons. The Celtics, who made the 5A state finals, will have 10 seniors playing collegiately.

In a marquee matchup against Peotone All-Stater Sophie Klawitter, Bishop McNamara's Joslynn Dole threw a two-hit shutout and was supported by some timely Fightin' Irish hits in a 2-0 win in McNamara's season opener.
