Rochelle Township High School's Andrew Nuyen cleared 17-6 and placed second.

Breaking school and state records, Rochelle pole vaulter Andrew Nuyen finished second with a personal-best height of 5.35 meters (17 feet 6 1/2 inches) during the IHSA Class 2A state boys track and field meet at Eastern Illinois. Nuyen is signed to compete at South Florida.

Forreston fell behind early and never recovered in a 10-7 loss to Galena at the 1A Forreston Sectional on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Galena plays Dakota for the sectional title on Saturday, June 6, at Forreston High School.
The Interstate 8 named three girls soccer MVPs: Kaneland's Erin Doucette, Ottawa's Chloe Carmona and Sycamore's Izzie Segreti. Co-champs Sycamore and Kaneland each had five all-conference selections, Ottawa had three, La Salle-Peru and Morris had two and Rochelle had one.
Sycamore pitcher Bella Jacobs was voted conference MVP by Interstate 8 coaches as the champion Spartans had five first-team selections. Ottawa and Morris had four selections each, Kaneland and La Salle-Peru had two each and Rochelle had one.

Ottawa's Adam Swanson was named the Interstate 8 MVP as Pirates and co-champ Kaneland each had six selections. Sycamore and Morris had three selections each, La Salle-Peru had two and Rochelle had one. Every team had one honorable mention.

Riverdale defeated Byron 11-8 to win the 2A Byron Regional on Saturday, May 30, 2026, and advance to the sectional.

Teams throughout Illinois competed in the 2026 IHSA Boys State Tennis Meet at multiple schools in the northwest suburbs on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Polo Community High School recently held a signing day for three of its student athletes who will be continuing their careers in college.
Oregon sophomore Jillian Hammer won the IHSA state title in the 300 hurdles and took third in the 100 hurdles. Newman, Forreston, Amboy, Bureau Valley, Fulton and Dixon also had strong finishes in Charleston.

Oregon scored eight runs while holding Rock Falls scoreless to win the Class 2A Oregon Regional championship on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Oregon Park West. The Hawks now advance to the Marengo Sectional.

Forreston-Polo took second as a team at the 1A Oregon Sectional boys track and field meet on Friday, May 22, 2026 as athletes from 16 schools competed to advance to the state meet next week in Charleston.
In one of the most competitive 2A boys track & field sectionals in the state, Rochelle and Byron finished in the top 5 of team standings.

Oregon softball beat Somonauk 6-0 at the 2A Oregon Regional on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The Hawks play Rock Falls on Saturday in the regional final.
