Forreston-Polo took second as a team at the 1A Oregon Sectional boys track and field meet on Friday, May 22, 2026 as athletes from 16 schools competed to advance to the state meet next week in Charleston.
In one of the most competitive 2A boys track & field sectionals in the state, Rochelle and Byron finished in the top 5 of team standings.
Several area teams took part in the Class 2A Rochelle Boys Track Sectional Wednesday including Byron, Dixon, Kaneland, Mendota, Plano, Rochelle, Rock Falls, Sandwich, Sterling and Sycamore, here are photos of the field events at the meet.

Morrison senior Brady Anderson's record-breaking track season continued at the Oregon Hall of Fame Classic. Amboy freshman Ian Hassler won the discus, while Rochelle, Erie-Prophetstown and Oregon also had wins on Friday.

The Forreston-Polo boys track team won the 1A Oregon Sectional on Friday, May 29, 2025 edging Winnebago 120 to 117.5. The Cardinals qualified individuals and relay teams to the state finals at Eastern Illinois University. Preliminaries at the state meet begin Thursday, May 29 in Mattoon.
Rochelle took top honors at the Hall of Fame Hawk Classic on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Landers-Loomis Field scoring 95 points to Forreston's 76 in the 18-team track & field event, Hubs' pole vaulter Andrew Nuyen set a new meet record clearing 5.03 meters (16'5") shattering the old record of 14'9" set in 2002.
Dixon took top honors at the 45th Annual Gebhardt-Worley Invitational at Oregon High School on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Forreston finished second.
Dixon won a quad meet at Oregon High School on Thursday, April 3, 2024 beating Forreston, Oregon, and Dakota.

Forreston finished second in the team totals at the 1A Winnebago Sectional in Winnebago on Friday, May 17, 2024. The Cardinals, who co-op with Polo, qualified individuals and relay teams to next week's state finals at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Winnebago won the 14-team event and Oregon finished fourth.

A year ago, the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the entire spring sports season. With numbers now low enough, the IHSA announced it is planning on having state finals in those spring sports that had no season at all last year.
