Man accused of firing gun outside Woodstock apartment

Police on Friday arrested a Chicago man accused of firing a gun during a September dispute in Woodstock.

Undra T. Taylor, 50, is charged with being an armed habitual criminal, a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

The charges stem from a Sept. 1 situation outside of a Woodstock apartment building, court records show. Taylor is accused of firing a single round from a handgun, placing a person he knew in danger, according to a Woodstock Police Department criminal complaint.

Taylor, who has two prior felony marijuana convictions out of Cook County, was barred from owning a firearm at the time of his arrest, charging documents show.

A McHenry County judge on Saturday set Taylor’s bond at $100,000. He would need to post $10,000 bail to secure his release from the McHenry County Jail, where he remained Monday afternoon.

Taylor is expected to appear for an additional bond hearing Wednesday with an attorney from the McHenry County Public Defender’s Office.
