A 24-year-old Crystal Lake man was sentenced to prison Tuesday for sexually assaulting a child in 2013.

Christopher P. St. Georges accepted an offer from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office and pleaded guilty to a single count of aggravated criminal sexual assault. In exchange for his guilty plea, St. Georges was sentenced to six years in prison. Prosecutors additionally dismissed five counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Deputies with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office arrested St. Georges on April 8 in connection with allegations stemming from 2013.

St. Georges was accused of having sexual contact with a child younger than 9 years old when he was at least 15, court records show.

A joint investigation between the Algonquin Police Department and the sheriff’s office revealed that St. Georges sexually abused the child on multiple instances, police have said.
