Huntley's Austin Tenglin was the lone area competitor to advance to the final rounds at the IHSA Boys Bowling State Tournament. The Red Raiders' sophomore was voted the Northwest Herald Athlete of the Week by readers.


Marengo's Justin Fluger became the first boys bowler in school history to record a perfect game on Dec. 14 at Kingston Lanes in Woodstock. The Indians junior was voted the Northwest Herald Athlete of the Week by readers.



Harvard's Logan Jacobs had personal bests with a match-high series and match-high game in the team's first boys bowling dual in school history. The Hornets standout was voted Northwest Herald Athlete of the Week by readers.
