McHenry County-area girls soccer players, coaches earn 2025 IHSSCA honors

A number of McHenry County-area girls soccer players and coaches earned honors from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association after this season.

The organization named Jacobs senior Gabby Wojtarowicz, Huntley junior Maizie Nickle and Dundee-Crown junior Rylie Mensik as IHSSCA All-State selections. Huntley coach Matt Lewandowski earned the Coach of the Year in Section 6, while Harvard coach Victor Gonzalez was named the Section 9 Soccer Person of the Year.

Prairie Ridge won the Sportsmanship Cup for Section 6.

Burlington Central juniors Kendall Grigg, Ali Kowall and Kenzie Lorkowski, Cary-Grove junior Malaina Kurth, Crystal Lake Central junior Addison Schaffer, Dundee-Crown senior Charlene Hernandez, Hampshire sophomore Ilse Marquez, Huntley senior Madison Cummings, Jacobs senior Sam Diaz, Prairie Ridge sophomore Ava Gertz and Marian Central’s Adriana Wrzos each were named all-sectional selections in Section 6.

Harvard freshmen Lila Amis and Julie Silva, Johnsburg junior Liz Smith and Richmond-Burton junior Nicole Mendlik each earned All-Sectional nods in Section 9.

Burlington Central junior Annie Magan, CG senior Morgan Csajaghy, Crystal Lake Central junior Ella Bechler, Crystal Lake South senior Addison Schwab, D-C senior Lynnette Morales, Hampshire junior Mikayla Amagasse, Huntley senior Jaci Laramie, Jacobs freshman Kylie Deegan, Prairie Ridge sophomore Violet Woodin and Marian sophomore Natalee Henkel each garnered honorable mention all-sectional in Section 6. Harvard sophomore Liz Aquino, Johnsburg sophomore Charlie Eastland and R-B sophomore Maddie Seyller earned the same honor in Section 9.

In Section 6, C-G senior Kamryn Blumer, Crystal Lake Central senior Hadley Ferrero, South senior Addison Schwab, D-C senior Olivia Eckersberg, Hampshire’s Marquez, Huntley senior Katelyn Sandora, Jacobs’ Wojtarowicz, Prairie Ridge senior Elyse Werner and Marian senior Isabella Pontarelli were all-academic selections. Harvard senior Jackie Silva, Johnsburg senior Natalie Oeffling and R-B senior Hannah Denman earned all-academic selections in Section 9.

Cary-Grove senior Avery Stortz, Crystal Lake Central senior Lizzie Gray, Crystal Lake South senior Addison Schwab, D-C senior Lynnette Morales, Hampshire senior Jozie Richert, Huntley senior Sofia Bruns, Jacobs senior Brenna Flaskamp, Prairie Ridge senior Carrie Sosnowski and Marian Central senior Kailie Rosato earned all-sectional sportsmanship selections in Section 6. Harvard senior Yasmin Paredes, Johnsburg senior Ava Jablonski and R-B senior McKenzie Ragusca earned the same honor in Section 9.
