Crystal Lake Food Pantry names new executive director

The Crystal Lake Food Pantry has announced the appointment of Jason Weisenberger as its executive director.

The Crystal Lake Food Pantry has announced the appointment of Jason Weisenberger as its executive director. A lifelong resident of McHenry County, Weisenberger co-owns The Breakers Restaurant in Crystal Lake with his wife, Arienne, and has 30 years of management experience at grocery chains such as Jewel-Osco, Walmart and Meijer.

Weisenberger led a fundraising team while at Walmart for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital and also has worked with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to secure food donations from his places of employment, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. Additionally, he was the vice president of McHenry County Police Charities for 10 years. He and his wife have a blended family of 10 and have lived in Crystal Lake for 14 years.

The Crystal Lake Food Pantry serves the greater Crystal Lake community and is always in need of donations of food or money to help local residents in need and to continue its mission that “no one should go hungry,” according to the release.
