Boys basketball
Marian Central 59, Christian Life 44: At Rockford, Finn Pivnicka and Adam Wrzos scored 19 points each to lead the Hurricanes to the nonconference win.
Marian Central improved to 9-17, equaling its win total of last season.
North Boone 60, Harvard 45: At Harvard, Adam Cooke notched a double-double and DeAndre Keller had 17 points, four rebounds and three blocked shots for the Hornets in their nonconference loss.
Cooke finished with 12 points, 17 rebounds, four blocks and three steals. Harvard (4-15) trailed 18-5 after one quarter but got within 27-18 at halftime and trimmed its deficit to five points in the third before North Boone (11-13) built its lead back to double digits.
Julian Acosta also scored 12 points for the Hornets, sinking four 3-pointers. Keller made three 3s.
JJ Ford paced three Vikings in double figures with 25 points and seven rebounds.
Girls basketball
Marengo 38, Sandwich 29: At Sandwich, Gabby Gieseke scored 12 points on four 3-pointers as the Indians improved to 13-11 overall and 8-1 in the Kishwaukee River Conference.
Mia Feldt added eight points for Marengo.
Boys wrestling
Hampshire 45, McHenry 33: At McHenry, the Whip-Purs got pins from Damen Wurtz (120 pounds), Deegan Kirschke (126), Michael Brannigan (157) and Knox Homola (285) in the Fox Valley Conference win.
McHenry received pins from Luke McDonnell (106), Ryan Hanson (132), Aiden Schuldt (165) and Brody Lidbury (215).
Boys swimming
Jacobs co-op 111, Woodstock North co-op 16: At Woodstock, Luke Johnson and John Beasley each won two races and swam on two of the three winning relays for the District 300 co-op.
Johnson took first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.53) and 100 backstroke (55.12) and also aided the winning 200 medley (1:43.65) and 400 free (3:31.86) relays. Beasley won the 50 free (23.42) and 100 free (52.72) and also swam on the 200 medley and 400 free relays.
Jacobs co-op also received wins from Max Chiappetta in the 200 free (1:57.76), Gabe Niemi in the 100 butterfly (58.30) and Colin Phan in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.59).
The winning 200 free relay (1:38.00) was comprised of Niemi, Alex Stefanishin, Phan and Diego Velasco. Phan and Niemi also were on the winning 200 medley relay. Velasco and Brandon Schroeter joined Johnson and Beasley on the victorious 400 free relay.
