Morris Elementary seeking new Superintendent after Dudek departs for Wood Dale

Morris Elementary District 54 is searching for a new superintendent to start in July after the departure of Superintendent Shannon Dudek, who leaves for Wood Dale District 7 Tuesday, July 1.

The Board of Education has begun its search, according to a Monday news release. It is “aiming to identify a leader to guide the district into a promising future.”

It said in the news release that it is looking for someone with a commitment to academic excellence, student success and community engagement.

“With a strong foundation in place, including passionate educators, supportive families, and thriving students, the district looks to build on its achievements while addressing opportunities for growth in a rapidly evolving educational landscape,” reads the news release.

The district requires these documents to apply for the superintendent position:

  • A formal letter of interest, expressing the desire to be a candidate for the position.
  • A resume, including a summary of achievements and experience, educational vision and goals, and personal leadership philosophy.
  • A minimum of three recent letters of reference. 
  • Proof of qualification and licensure to be a superintendent in the state of Illinois.
  • Copies of transcripts from each college/university attended.

Applications are due by noon, Wednesday, Feb. 12. Late submissions will not be accepted.
