Southwest Prairie Conference Meet: At Yorkville, Minooka captured the team title with 173 points. Plainfield South was second followed by Joliet Central and Joliet West.Angela Morales and Sabina Charlebois won titles for team champion Minooka.Teagan Aurich and Keira Enright won titles for Plainfield South. Daniela Santander and Henessis Villagrana won for Romeoville. Alisa Carter and Izabel Barrera earned titles for Joliet Central. Shania Davison and Alicia Tucker won titles for Plainfield Central. Alejandra Flores won a title for Bolingbrook, and Viki Rodnikova did the same for Plainfield North.

Boys basketball

Lincoln-Way Central 56, Oak Forest 47: At New Lenox, Kevin Barrett scored a game-best 20 as the Knights won. Korey Cagnolatti added 16, and Jack Rimkunas added 11 for L-W Central (15-7)

Plainfield East 67, Oswego 60: At Plainfield, Kobe Jordan had a big night for the Bengals in their SPC win over the Panthers. Jordan scored 27 points and grabbed seven boards. Josh Stone added 14 and KJ Miller 10 as East improved to 7-14, 4-5 in the SPC.

Oswego East, 41 Plainfield Central 22: At Plainfield, the Wildcats fell to the Wolves in an SPC matchup.

Lincoln-Way West 57, Stagg 40: At New Lenox, Max Gabriel went for 18 points, and Wyatt Carlson added 17 as the Warriors improved to 11-10 overall with the win.

Romeoville 55, Yorkville 42: At Romeoville, Damion Porter scored 18 to lead the Spartans to the Southwest Prairie Conference win. DJ Hampton added 13 as Romeoville improved to 10-14 overall, 6-4 in the SPC.

Coal City 62, Peotone 61: At Peotone, Gabe McHugh drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lead the Coalers to the road win. Coal City improved to 16-5 overall and remained in second place in the ICE at 8-1, one game behind Streator.

Streator 50, Reed-Custer 36: At Pops Dale Gymnasium in Streator, the visiting Comets (7-14 overall, 2-7 ICE) were defeated despite Jake Reardon’s double-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots.

Manteno 52, Wilmington 49: At Wilmington, Ryan Nelson scored a game-best 23 points as the Wildcats fell in the Illinois Central Eight contest to the Panthers. Lucas Rink added 11 points for Wilmington (13-8, 4-5).

Joliet Catholic 58, Niles Notre Dame 54 (OT): At Niles, Jayden Armstong and Donavyn Simmons scored 20 points each as the Hilltoppers took out the Dons in overtime in an East Suburban Catholic Conference contest. Jack Superits added five points for JCA (9-8, 1-4).

La Salle-Peru 67, Morris 52: At Morris, Jack Wheeler scored 18 points as Morris fell in the Interstate 8 contest. Brett Bounds added 11 points for Morris (7-13, 1-5).

Seneca 67, Roanoke-Benson 34: At Seneca, Paxton Giertz scored 19 points as the Irish won in the Tri-County Conference. Brayden Simek added 16 and Brady Sheedy 14 for Seneca (18-4, 6-0).

St. Francis 53, Providence Catholic 33: At New Lenox, the Celtics fell to the Spartans.

Lemont 82, Thornton-Fractional South 57: At Lemont, Gabe Sularski and Matas Gaidukevicius scored 21 points each to lead Lemont. Alanas Castillo added 20 for Lemont (16-7, 7-0).

Boys wrestling

East Suburban Catholic Meet: At Joliet, the Hilltoppers finished second to Marist in the team race at the ESCC championships. Maddux Tindal (120), Dawson Mack (138), and Nico Ronchetti (190) won individual titles.

Reed-Custer 74, Dwight 5: At Braidwood, the Comets cruised to the nonconference dual-meet win. Dylan Crouch won his match for Dwight. Jayden Sanchez, Tanner Guilquist, Jeremy Eggleston, Nathan Vogler and Christian Mounts were among the winners for R-C.

Girls basketball

Morris 50, La Salle-Peru 38: At Morris, Layken Callahan scored 19 and Landrie Callahan 18 as Morris took the contest in the Interstate 8. Landrie added 12 rebounds and Layken three steals for Morris (18-3, 5-2).

Boys bowling

Andrew Sectional: At Tinley Park, Lincoln-Way West captured the team title at the Andrew Sectional by tallying a total score of 6,327. Jayden Kristie led the way for West with a total of 1,343. Patrick Berlin, Logan Nicholls and Matt Staniszewski paced the Warriors to the win.

Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way East also advanced teams to next weekend’s state meet. Tyler Hoger, Austin Cetwinski and Carter Mann led Central. James Przybylinski, Jake Marks and Dalen Yahnke paced East.
