GENEVA – The Kane County Cougars will open the 2021 season with a three-game series against the Chicago Dogs franchise beginning on Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m.
It is the first of 53 home games the Cougars will play at Northwestern Medicine Field in their inaugural season with the American Association of Professional Baseball. The Cougars will host the Dogs for a three-game homestand before visiting the Sioux Falls Canaries for a three-game series beginning Friday, May 21.
“We are thrilled to have baseball back at beautiful Northwestern Medicine Field,” Cougars Vice President and General Manager Curtis Haug said in a statement.
“We are looking forward to the exciting, new competition we will face in the American Association and I think our fans will really enjoy the play-to-win mindset as well as great new opponents. Additionally, the Cougars organization will continue to provide wonderful family entertainment in a safe, secure and clean environment,” the statement continues.

Individual tickets are expected to be available for sale in April, the team says. Promotions, theme nights and other activities will be announced as more information becomes available.
The Cougars will celebrate 30 years of operations this summer. Major League Baseball dropped the Geneva-based franchise from its affiliates last fall. It joined the AAPB partner league in early February.
