A suspicious death investigation was launched Tuesday morning after a woman was found dead in Streator.

Streator police officer John Franklin confirmed an incident “that does fall within Streator city limits” and “it’s an active investigation at this point.”

The investigation is in the early stages, however, and additional details are not yet known.
