Prepare hearty soups, stews at Feb. 20 workshop

U of I educator to lead class

University of Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator Susan Glassman will lead a class on how to prepare hearty soups and stews at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Bureau County Farm Bureau, 1407 N. Main St., Princeton. Take home new ideas to make delicious soups for lunch or dinner and try a bowl of soup that evening in the class. (Scott Anderson)

Soup nourishes, comforts, hydrates and might even keep the sniffles away. Soups are healthy, easy on the wallet, quick and fill people with fewer calories. Learn to heighten the flavor with homemade garnishes and how to create a soup bar with an upcoming program.
