Peru Elementary will welcome a new superintendent, Ryan Linnig, in July.
Linnig brings nearly 28 years of experience in education, leadership and administration, with the last 17 serving as superintendent of Dimmick CCSD 175, according to a Thursday news release from Peru Elementary.
Throughout his career, Linnig has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence, student success and strong community partnerships, the district said. In his new role, Linnig will focus on operational efficiency, a targeted and comprehensive approach to professional development, thoughtful budget and financial planning and success in cultivating relationships with staff, students, administrators and the community.
Lining will succeed Richard “Jamie” Craven, who has been with the district since July 2020, succeeding Mark Cross. Craven was the DeKalb Community Schools superintendent for three years before accepting the role in Peru and was previously the superintendent of Rochelle High School.
Linnig was named the 2023 Superintendent of Distinction by his colleagues in the Starved Rock Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators.
