Monticello 62, Seneca 56: At the St. Joe-Ogden Shootout, the Fighting Irish fell to 14-4 with the loss to the Sages.
Seneca was led by the trio of Paxton Giertz (17 points), Brayden Simek (16) and Brady Sheedy (15).
“We battled hard till the end,” Seneca coach Russ Witte said. “We ran into a couple of late shot clock situations on defense where we didn’t finish the possession. It was great to see us finally get some balance to our scoring and to see Brady Sheedy and Brayden Simek hit some shots and get to the rim tonight. We missed 10 free throws and in a tight game that is always detrimental, but overall, we got better tonight.”
