Seneca’s Pacheco takes 1st at Bolingbrook: Fighting Irish junior Catalina Pacheco went 3-0, including a pair of pinfalls, to win the 130-pound bracket at the Bolingbrook Invite on Saturday.

Sammie Greisen (135, 2-1, two pinfalls) and Haiden Lavarier (140, 2-1, two pinfalls) each finished second for Seneca, while Haven Nicolaides (115, 4-1, four pinfalls) placed third.

Girls basketball

Serena 57 St. Bede 53 (OT): At Peru, the Huskers led 24-18 at half, 39-32 after three, and outscored the Bruins 10-6 in the extra session to earn the victory.

Plano 58, Somonauk/Leland 34: At Somonauk, the Bobcats fell short against the Reapers.

Laynie Wold scored 10 points for S/L, while Leah Norris (seven rebounds) and Abby Hohmann added eight points apiece.

Boys basketball

St. Bede 63, Serena 50: At Peru, the Huskers trailed 17-13 after one, led 28-25 at halftime and the sides were tied at 43 heading to the fourth.

Blake Hjerpe led Serena with 19 points, while Beau Raikes added 11.

Plano 65, Somonauk 47: At Somonauk, the Bobcats were defeated by the Reapers.

Brock Sexton led Somonauk with 11 points, followed by nine each from Weston Hannibal and Silas Johnson, while Landin Stillwell chipped in eight.
