Johnson: Genoa car show rolls out Aug. 21

Get your motor running and cruise on down to the seventh annual Genoa car show.

On Aug. 21, Main Street will once again be shut down for car enthusiasts everywhere to show their stuff at Cruisin’ to Genoa. We are excited to be back again this year to offer food, music, raffles and numerous activities throughout the day. The fourth annual Roger Watson Tractor Show will also take place.

This year is sure to be just as successful as the previous years with more than 1,000 visitors and 150 cars and motorcycles.

Trophies will be awarded to the winning entries in eight categories, including Best of Show, Top 20, Truck Class, Kid’s Choice, Motorcycle Class, People’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice and Committee Choice. The best tractor will be honored in Roger Watson’s memory. More than 30 trophies will be awarded.

Cars, motorcycles and trucks are all welcome to participate. The registration fee is $10 through Aug. 19. The fee is $15 on the day of the show and registration begins at 10 a.m. Trophy presentation will be at 4 p.m.

Cruisin’ to Genoa is fun for the whole family. There will be awesome cars to look at, a 50/50 raffle and downtown shops will be open for business as well as member business booths to stop at. Our last 50/50 raffle winner took home more than $500.

Whether you are an avid car show enthusiast, a total motor head or just want to see some beautiful cars and motorcycles, the Genoa car show is the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon.
