DeKALB - A Northern Illinois University laboratory is seeking volunteers 65 or older who will be paid to participate in a study investigating the health benefits of a sled-push exercise program.

That’s according to a news release from the Motor Behavior Research Laboratory at NIU.

The study will take place at the Motor Behavior Research Laboratory at NIU, located in Room 213 in Anderson Hall, 520 Garden Road, DeKalb.

Participants should contact study leader Dr. Emerson Sebastiao for further explanations about the study. They will be screened before scheduling a visit. Participation in the study involves a single visit to the laboratory for about 75 minutes. During the 75-minute period, participants will push a sled for a short distance six times and have their heart rate, blood pressure, enjoyment and other measurements taken.

Participants will be compensated $25 cash for their time upon completion.

If interested, contact Sebastiao at esebastiao@niu.edu or call 815-753-3656.
