A Sycamore-DeKalb soccer match that came down to one goal. An Interstate 8 girls track championship that came down to the final few races. There was no shortage of great games this weekend, and with that came outstanding performances. Here’s a look at a few of the best.

Ellison Hallahan, Addie McLaughlin, Fiath and Sycamore used late heroics for an extra-inning win, Brodie Farrell pitches DeKalb to a win, G-K sprinters shine in home meet and more in the roundup.

Kaneland junior Erin Doucette gave Kaneland a 2-1 lead with her record-setting 34th goal of the season with 13 minutes left, and Batavia junior Emma Wecker tied the game again with nine minutes remaining in a 2-2 thriller.

Cortni Kruizenga took a feed from Izzie Segreti and punched it home the game's only goal in Sycamore's win over DeKalb in El Classicorn on Saturday.

Despite only managing two wins on the day, St. Charles North surpassed expectations to win it's first-ever Kane County Meet championship, while five meet records were broken across the board at the 106th event, the most since 1977.

The Sycamore girls track and field team won the final three events at Friday's Interstate 8 Conference meet to claim the title over runner-up Morris and third-place Kaneland at Morris High School.

Isabel Aranda homered twice for DeKalb softball, the Barbs' boys track and field team placed third at the Holt Invite, and more in Friday's Daily Chronicle sports roundup.
