The DeKalb and Sycamore boys basketball teams renew their rivalry Friday at the NIU Convocation Center. The Barbs have won the last three games in the series.

The DeKalb girls basketball team stopped a 16-game losing streak to Sycamore earlier this season. They'll look to end a 10-game skid to the Spartans at the NIU Convocation Center on Friday and reclaim the trophy for the first time since 2014.

With stars Dylan Long of Newark suffering an injury late in the first half and Martin Ledbetter of Hinckley-Big Rock home sick, Reggie Chapman scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half to lift Newark to a 67-64 win to take sole possession of first place in the Little Ten.

In the second half with DeKalb's lead down to 3, Marshawn Cocroft took on the duties of guarding Sean Reynolds and the Knights' fortunes changed in a 58-54 win over the Barbs.
