Police make prostitution arrest at Downers Grove hotel

DOWNERS GROVE – Downers Grove police Jan. 23 arrested a Schaumburg woman on charges of prostitution and unlawful use of a handgun at a local Red Roof Inn.

Police conducted an operation around 2 p.m. Jan. 23 after finding an advertisement on listcrawler.com, a site used for escort services, which led them to Red Roof Inn, 1113 Butterfield Road, according to a police report.

Police brought 30-year-old Nautishia TK Burnette – who initially resisted arrest – into custody. In her purse, they found a handgun and 13 rounds of ammunition, the report stated.

Police say Burnette did not have a FOID card to legally own the handgun, and she also had a suspended driver's license, according to the report. Police took Burnette's phone for evidence and searched her vehicle.

Burnette was charged with prostitution, unlawful use of a handgun, driving while license suspended and resisting a peace officer. She was released on bond.
