SOFTBALL
Oswego East: Emiy Schultz went 4-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs, Ashley Schultz went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs and Rachel Johnson homered and drove in three runs in the Wolves' 21-12 win over Plainfield South on April 11. Danielle Williams had two RBIs and four runs scored and Emily Green scored three runs.
BASEBALL
Oswego East varsity: Shane Schatz (4-0) struck out seven in a complete-game three hitter as the Wolves (13-0, 1-0) edged Joliet West 2-1 in the conference opener April 11. Dominic Zupo doubled and scored Oswego East's only run.
The Wolves beat Rockford Boylan 7-6 on April 8 to win the Freeport Pretzel City Classic. Garrett Goetz had four stolen bases and two runs scored, BJ Graves had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Mason Madalinski doubled, drove in a run and scored a run. Daniel Nelson earned the win and Shane Schatz earned the save. Madalinski struck out six and allowed three hits, and Nelson got the save, as Oswego East beat Harlem 4-1 in the semifinals. Madalinski homered and drove in two runs, JD Ludacka had two hits and two runs scored and Graves two RBIs.
Goetz struck out nine over six innings of three-hit shutout baseball, Shane Schatz earned the save and Graves scored the winning run on a balk as the Wolves beat Deerfield 1-0 on April 7.
Oswego East sophomores: Collin Witze had a two-run double and Nick Boissiere doubled twice for the Wolves (7-2) in a 12-1 win over Benet on April 8. Jakob Dirksen was the winning pitcher. Grant Davis drove in three runs in a 9-5 Wolves' win in Game 2. Boissiere earned the win and Ed Borwick the save.
Oswego East freshmen: Tyler Heidkamp struck out nine in the Wolves' 5-4 win over Geneva on April 4. Jacob Ferry and Alec Kohl each had two RBIs.
Oswego freshmen: Josh Grimes held Yorkville scoreless into the fifth inning, striking out three, in Oswego's 7-6 win on April 7. The Oswego offense built a 7-0 lead, powered by three hits from Patrick Hranka and two RBIs each from Tommy Picha and Darren Mancke. Picha pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn the save.
GIRLS TRACK
Metea Valley Invite: Oswego's Isabelle Christiansen won the 1,600-meter run in 5:20.16 to lead the Panthers at the Metea Valley Invite on April 8. Kardia Dunah was third in the 400 (1:01.41), Jenna Yakesh was fifth in the 800 (2:27.44), Grace Pagone was third in the 3,200 (11:56.99), Madison Williams was fourth in the 100 hurdles (17.64), Jennah Rogers fifth in the 100 hurdles (18.17) and third in the 300 hurdles (49.10), Micah Carlson was second in the pole vault (8-6), Claire Barenie was fourth in the pole vault (8 feet) and Malorie Carlson was fourth in the long jump (16-0.5)
