Officials running the Bureau County Fair announced that country band Sawyer Brown and Lonestar will headline the annual fair this summer.

The Village Greek restaurant in downtown Sycamore will serve its last meal on New Year’s Eve, said owner Makie Maratos, who also owns Sycamore State Theater next door.

The owners of a Sycamore restaurant that was heavily damaged in a September fire said their property was deemed a total loss, but they’re still exploring the next steps for their family business.

A new McDonald's is now open at the corner of Plank Road and Illinois Route 23 in Sycamore.

The owners of Denim & Diamonds Saloon in downtown Sycamore said they are selling the building that houses their music-focused bar. Despite the potential for the building to be sold, the saloon remains open.

The pair of celebrations Sept. 12 & 13 will bring food vendors and musical acts to downtown La Salle.

The annual festival now doubles as an Oktoberfest and has grown since its origin in 2016.

For the past five years, Wessels’ Family Farm has grown, harvested and delivered the corn that festivalgoers at Corn Fest in DeKalb enjoy when at the annual end-of-summer festival. They're prepping about 6,000 ears for Saturday.

The Bureau County Fair, Illinois’ longest running fair, returns to the fairgrounds at 811 W. Peru St. from Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 20–24.
