5 Things to Do: ‘The Bridges of Madison County’ at Timber Lake Playhouse, Taste of Fiesta in Rock Falls

Dancers with Grupo Ay! Jalisco get ready to go on stage Sept. 9 during the Taste of Fiesta in Sterling. Music, dancing, food, games and great weather drew a crowd that packed Central Memorial Park for the celebration. If you missed last week’s taste of Hispanic culture, you’ll have another chance to sample it today. The 65th annual Fiesta Parade begins at 1 p.m. in Rock Falls. Entries will line up on 10th Street and travel north on First Avenue, cross the bridge to Sterling, travel north on Locust Street to Fourth Street and end at Central Memorial Park. Food vendors will set up along the route.

  3. 13th annual Taste of Fiesta (Rock Falls): This festive event runs from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the RB&W Park. Celebrate culture with authentic food, music and community spirit at this local favorite. Click here for more information. The Fiesta Day Parade will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Rock Falls and end with a celebration at the Sterling Marketplace from 3 to 6 p.m.
