Here are five things to do this weekend:
Galentine’s Day: Shop and dance with girlfriends during the Galentine’s Day event from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Quarry Cable Park in Crystal Lake, located at 5517 Route 14. Enjoy festive decor, cocktails and food while dancing to a DJ’s tunes. Shop from local vendors at the mini market for clothing, jewelry and skin care products. Historical society museum open house: The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum is planning a special winter opening and open house starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at the museum, 6422 Main St., Union. There will be light snacks, free admission to the museum, guided tours and a scavenger hunt. Farming fair: Connect with local farmers during the Community-Supported Agriculture fair and film screening from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at McHenry County Community College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Visit with local farmers at vendor booths, eat free popcorn, participate in kids activities and watch three agricultural-related short films. The free event is held in collaboration with The Land Conservancy of McHenry County and the Center for Agrarian Learning at MCC. Cabin fever party: Break free from the winter blues during Harley-Davidson’s Cabin Fever party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Woodstock motorcycle dealership, 2235 S. Eastwood Drive. The event will have food trucks, beverages from Holzlager Brewing Co., vendors, giveaways and live music by The Diffused Blues. Candlelit hike: The McHenry County Conservation District invites skiers and hikers of every experience level and age to the annual Candlelight Ski & Hike from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Coral Woods Conservation Area in Marengo, located at 7400 Somerset Drive.
