Fifth graders at Charles Reed Elementary School in Plainfield conducted a food waste audit during all lunch periods in April, asking students why they were throwing away their food.

The art show presented over 1,500 peices of student artwork from all Joliet Public Schools District 86 elementary and junior high schools. Music was provided by District 86 bands.

The gym is one of the final elements to be finished in the new 171,000 square-foot Hufford Junior High School, which is approximately a third larger than the current building.

Proceeds from the event will support grants for JTHS District 204 students and staff, scholarships for Joliet Central and Joliet West high school seniors.
