Route 53 in Bolingbrook re-opened after dump truck crash, police say

Northbound lanes of Route 53 have been re-opened at the intersection of Boughton Road in Bolingbrook, after they were closed in response to a crash involving a dump truck.

Officers were scene of a crash on Monday that occurred on Route 53, just north of Boughton Road, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.

The driver of the dump truck was the only occupant of the vehicle, police said. There were no serious injuries and no one was taken to the hospital.

Police had asked motorists to avoid the area and find an alternate route for their commute until the investigation is completed.
