Gary Grizaffi receives award from Illinois Association of School Business Officials

The Illinois Association of School Business Officials recently presented Garrick Grizaffi with its Dr. R.E. Everett Distinguished Service Award.

Grizaffi is the assistant superintendent at Valley View Community Unit School District 365U. The Everett Award “celebrates IASBO members for their dedication and service to the school business profession, according to a news release Valley View School District 365U.

The Dr. R.E. Everett Distinguished Service Award presentation was part of the annual Illinois Association of School Boards, Illinois Association of School Administrators, and Illinois Association of School Business Officials Joint Conference, which was held Nov. 19 to Nov. 21 in Chicago, the release said.

Grizaffi earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Illinois State University and a master’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University, according to a 2005 Herald-News story. Grizaffi also has a general administrative Type 75 certificate, the Herald-News story said.

He attended elementary school at Cook County School District 89 and began his career in the same school district, the release said. He became assistant superintendent for business in West Chicago School District 94 in 1998.

Grizaffi became assistant superintendent at Valley View School District 365U in 2005. He oversees the business, operations and finances for the school district which is the ninth largest school district in Illinois, the release said.
