The Plainfield Police Department reported that an incident it was investigating Sunday night has been peacefully resolved.

“The situation near Crossing Drive and Spring View Court has been peacefully resolved. There is no longer a need to avoid the area,” the department posted on its Facebook page just past 9 p.m.

The Joliet Police Special Operations Squad and Crisis Negotiator Team was at the scene and assisted with the incident, Joliet Police Department Public Affairs officer Sgt. Dwayne English said.

The Plainfield Police Department released no further information.
