The public is invited to learn Joliet’s history with a tour of the Joliet Iron Works.
The historic site, owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of Will County, is hosting a tour from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Visitors can explore the stone foundations of the once-thriving industrial plant that earned Joliet the nickname “City of Stone and Steel.”
A naturalist will share the stories of the men and machines that worked at the site. Ages 16 or older; free. Register by Aug. 17.
