The new ownership group, led by actor Bill Murray and the Veeck family, brought new energy and interest in the Joliet Slammers in 2024.
The ownership group launched new, bigger promotions on game days and expanded the food offerings at the ballpark.
The Slammers partnered with local restaurants and food businesses to enhance the fan experience.
Some of those businesses includes Wyler’s BBQ, tacos from the Sunshine Cafe stand and ice cream from the Creamer. New for 2024 was Crumbl Cookie, a national cookie franchise with local owners.
Slammers food and beverage director Joel Sigel, a chef who has created many of the specialties on concession stand menus, makes connections to welcome local food entrepreneurs to the ballpark.
Slammers Stadium also hosted two big community events, the first being the Joliet Chamber of Commerce’s annual New Orleans North festival in August. The event was moved there because of construction in downtown Joliet.
During the holiday season, the Slammers are hosting the GLOW Holiday Festival lighted event through Jan. 5.
Tickets for the 2025 season are now on sale.
