Joliet residences, vehicles struck by gunfire over the weekend

Joliet police are investigating a shooting that damaged two homes and multiple vehicles in the early morning hours Saturday.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Ann Street about 6:24 a.m. after a homeowner discovered that their residence had been struck multiple times by gunfire, Joliet police said.

Officers learned that the shooting may have taken place about 1 a.m.

Another residence next door also appeared to have been struck once by gunfire.

Two vehicles parked in the driveway as well as one parked in the garage of the residence also were struck by gunfire, according to police.

No injuries were reported from this shooting.

Officers recovered over 30 spent shell casings in the street.

Joliet police also reported one person being shot and bullets hitting three buildings and a vehicle Saturday night in 1000 block of Woodruff Road in Joliet.

When police arrived at 10:45 p.m., they found spent shell casings in the street and determined gunfire had struck two houses and an unoccupied Honda HRV, according to a news release from the Joliet Police Department.
