Memorial Wall

The "Wall That Heals," a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will receive a motorcycle escort through McHenry County Wednesday prior to a display in West Dundee. A Field of the Fallen flag display will take place in Cary this weekend also.

The memorial humanizes the conflict. It’s a stark reminder that war and death are blood brothers and the families and communities are the ones who suffer.

Hundreds rode into Marseilles in the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run and/or to join the observances at the Memorial Wall. Saturday marked the 17th anniversary of the memorial’s dedication.
