Authorities have identified a 75-year old woman who died in a house fire in Minooka on Monday. The investigation by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office remains ongoing.

May 7, 1864: The first issue of the Kendall County Record rolled off the presses. John R. Marshall returned from fighting with the Union Army in the Civil War and purchased the necessary equipment for $500.

“After speaking with numerous students, staff, and parents, no credible threat was determined to exist,” the sheriff’s office said.

Tony Baker, superintendent of Plano CUSD 88, said the district would use initial funds to extend its summer learning program, adding that the program’s enrollment of about 500 students is the highest its been in recent years.
