Former Illinois state Sen. Jim Oberweis will return to Kane County Sunday to fundraise for his run for Congress in Florida – but local GOP chief would rather see local political money used in Illinois.

Oberweis Dairy plans to lay off 127 employees starting in June, the company informed the state in a WARN filing.

Underwood’s campaign called the challenge ‘political theater’

In a petition to the U.S. House of Representatives Jim Oberweis claims he won the race for the 14th Congressional District by 9,374 votes, while certified election results showed he lost by 5,374 votes; Underwood had 203,209 votes and Oberweis had 197,835 in the Nov. 3 general election.

The Kane County Clerk’s Office will do a discovery recount of 119 precincts starting at 9 a.m. Dec. 15 for failed candidates Jim Oberweis, David Rickert and Jeanette Ward

The Kane County Coroner’s Office was recommended for re-accreditation by auditors of the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners for its investigative practices, morgue facilities, laboratory service, forensic specialists and medicolegal practices.
