As electric vehicle charging networks are taking shape across the country and in Illinois, state Sen. Dan McConchie wants to ensure the infrastructure is accessible to all drivers.

Several area legislators are participating in the third annual Valentines for Seniors card drive, designed to “brighten the days” of older residents in the area and “ensure they know they are a valued part of the community,” according to news releases.

State Sen. Dan McConchie, R-Hawthorn Woods, will hold a Thanksgiving turkey and ham giveaway in partnership with Meridian and Wauconda Township this Saturday.

State Sens. Dan McConchie and Craig Wilcox will host a Conversations Untapped event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Spirit Water, 3300 Three Oaks Road in Cary.

State Sen. Dan Duffy will step down next month to lead a national advocacy group fighting child abuse and neglect, possibly paving the way for the winner of the GOP primary to take office early.

In the Illinois Senate 26th District primary, Dan McConchie, Martin McLaughlin and Casey Urlacher are seeking the Republican nomination to replace Dan Duffy.
