The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago has named two Plainfield residents to be among its 2025 class of heroes. The two will be honored at an event in Chicago in April.

The program “recognize residents who show civic pride by having outstanding yards,” according to the city.

A CITGO Lemont Refinery employee has been recognized as a hero by the company and the Village of Lemont after he saved a citizen from a burning vehicle in January.

A semitrailer driver named Rashpal Saini had rescued the driver of another vehicle from a fire following a crash in Joliet Township.
