Lake Carroll's annual Mr. and Mrs. Club Championship brings out the best in teamwork to come out on top, and there's a strong bond among the teammates – they're spouses.

Oswego Co-Op sophomore Alli Wiertel set IHSA Class 2A state meet records for a single round and two rounds on Saturday to win the state championship in the event held at Hickory Point in Forsyth.

Downers Grove South senior Miah Wanserski finished tied for second, five shots back of champion Alli Wiertel of Oswego Co-Op, at the Class 2A state tournament held at Hickory Point in Forsyth. Meanwhile York's boys finished third in Class 3A and Wheaton Academy third in Class 2A.

Wheaton Academy's boys team has a three-shot lead and Wheaton Academy's Owen Coniaris is tied for the lead at the Class 2A state golf tournament after one round, Downers Grove South's Miah Wanserski is tied for fourth at the Class 2A girls tournament and York's boys are fourth.

Led by freshman Lauren Gauss, who shot a 3-over par 75 to tie for second individually, the Benet girls golf team won the program's first sectional title to qualify for state. Oswego Co-Op's Alli Wiertel and St. Charles North's Kayla Beu also tied for second to advance.

Hinsdale Central's boys and girls golf teams won sectional titles, as did Timothy Christian's boys team in leading area state qualifiers.

Colt Bryson and Bryer Harris each recorded top-3 individual finishes as Ottawa claimed the IHSA 2A Boys Golf Sectional title at the Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club in Rockford on Monday afternoon.

The Henry-Senachwine and Hall boys golf teams finished second and third respectively on Wednesday to advance to sectionals out of the Class 1A Marquette Regional at Deer Park Country Club in Oglesby. Fieldcrest's Carter Senko placed second individually after a playoff.

Benet, which finished with the only score under par on the day at 284, received a pair of below par performances from Jack Quil, who finished 4-under at 68, and senior Caden Petersen (71). Sophomores Rory Neill (72) and Charlie Davis (73) closed out the top four for Benet.
