The Dixon City Fire Department, Dixon Rural FPD and Advance EMS were dispatched at 4:46 a.m Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, to the area of Monroe Avenue and West First Street for a reported explosion and fire.

Dixon Fire Department and Dixon Rural Fire Department are spreading fire awareness with the annual “Keep the Wreath Red” Campaign. The intent of the red-lighted Christmas wreaths is to bring awareness of the effects of holiday-related fires and the importance of being fire safe.
