The Rochelle Community Action Network will host its annual Christmas shopping trip for families in need in the community on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025. The event will include a coat drive.
Nicor Gas, in partnership with the nonprofit group Operation Warm, distributed winter coats to every student at T.E. Culbertson Elementary School in Joliet on Friday.
Coats will be available in toddler sizes, boys and girl sizes XS to XL as well as adult women’s sizes.
Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists is collecting donations for the Sycamore United Methodist Church Coat Ministry. Needed items include new and gently-used coats, boots, mittens, scarves, and other winter accessories.
Libertyville Rotary Sunrise has teamed with Zengeler Cleaners for its annual “Coats for Vets” collection drive.
Anyone interested in donating new and gently-used winterwear can drop off the items at the Troy community center, 25448 W. Seil Road in Shorewood.
