Country music's Diamond Rio to headline Sublette’s 170th anniversary celebration this weekend

The second oldest public community college in the state turned 100 years old. Illinois Valley Community College held a 100th anniversary celebration in the Mary Margaret Weeg Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 25, 2024.I VCC predecessor La Salle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College (LPO) was established April 24, 1924.

The YWCA of the Sauk Valley celebrates their 100th anniversary with a party Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at Sauk Valley Community College.

Dennis and Connie (Cramer) Anderson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 4 with a card party.

Rev. Marvin and Peggy Strom celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 22. The couple was married on June 22, 1963 in the First Baptist Church in Belding, Michigan.

In honor of DJ's Sports Bar & Grill's 30th anniversary in Westmont, a celebratory ribbon cutting was held.

Friday's event includes an anniversary proclamation by Lemont Mayor and State Rep. John Egofske, guest speakers and dedication of the future Village Green park.

Activities on Saturday include food, live entertainment, children's games, photo opportunities and a pierogi-eating contest.

An open house will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 23 in the fellowship hall of the First Lutheran Church, 116 N. Pleasant St. in Princeton, to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Dale and Barbara Fiste.

A day brimming with free festivities for community members of all ages will mark the milestone.
