Annawan outscored Forreston 25-11 in the third quarter and 42-16 in the final period of play en route to a 67-38 win at the 1A Amboy Regional championship on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025. Kendall Erdmann led the Cardinals with 14 points and Brendan Greenfield added 11 in the loss. Annawan was led by Maddux Heitzler’s 16 points.
The Sterling Newman baseball team made it back to state, this time in Class 2A, while the Rockridge softball team seek its fourth straight Class 2A State championship.They will be joined over the state weekend by the Ottawa Marquette baseball team in Class 1A.
The Bruins tied the game in the third inning, only to have the Titans regain the lead with a run in the home half. They never give it up on the way to a 4-2 championship game victory.
