The Sterling and Dixon girls basketball teams are both still in the hunt for conference titles after wins, Polo beat Fulton, Morrison boys beat Amboy, Eastland beat Milledgeville and more in Thursday's Sauk Valley roundup.

Newman's Three Rivers East contest was called in the third quarter as a Kewanee player was taken off the court on a stretcher Thursday night. The Comets won 54-29.

Morrison senior Camryn Veltrop recently passed her older sister Shelby as the program's all-time leading rebounder and set the free throw record. Camryn is also Morrison's all-time leading scorer, boys or girls, after passing Rod Bush.

Sterling's Sarah Doughty looks to be the top local bowler at this Friday's Dixon Regional, where Dixon, Erie-Prophetstown and Oregon are also competing. Doughty and the Golden Warriors were Dixon Invitational champions the last time they competed at Plum Hollow this season.

Senior forward Darius Harrington became Dixon's new all-time leading scorer after passing Beau Bailey with a 25-point performance in a 62-40 win over Oregon on Tuesday at the Blackhawk Center.

Eddie Jones eclipsed 1,000 career points in an Amboy win, Sterling and Eastland won, Fulton boys beat Morrison, Newman girls fell, Eastland beat Rock Falls and more in Tuesday's Sauk Valley roundup.

Rock Falls finished strong in a 63-56 BNC win over Winnebago on senior night as Ryken Howard and Kuitim Heald each scored 21 points and Cole Mulnix added 14 off the bench. The Rockets have won six straight games.
