The Dixon boys bowling team finished seventh at the state meet on Saturday as Wyatt Miller took seventh individually. Oregon took 12th as a team, led by a 31st-place finish by Gavvin Surmo. Both finishes were a program-best for the Dukes and Hawks.
The Dixon and Oregon boys bowling teams look to make some noise at the state meet this weekend at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights. The Dukes took 11th last year and Oregon is competing at state as a team for just the second time.

Bowlers from Amboy, Dixon, Oregon and Sterling are set to compete at Saturday's Oregon Sectional at Plum Hollow Family Center in Dixon. The top four teams and top five individuals not on a qualifying team qualify for state next weekend.

For the third time in program history, the Dixon boys bowling team is headed to state. After placing fifth at the Jefferson Sectional last Saturday, the Dukes will compete downstate at St. Clair Bowl in O’Fallon for the IHSA Boys Bowling State Meet on Friday and Saturday.
